Hats are a great way to add shaping skills to texture techniques and this plait cloche is a great example. You’ll be joining two cable techniques for the plait and then decreasing, while still cabling, to give the cloche shape.
It’s a quick knit once you get started as you’ll be using chunky yarn- which is great for seeing what you’re doing if this is your first time adding cabling to a hat.
(and if you’re right on trend you can take a look at the blog and and a final flourish with a tassel or pom-pom!)
Included in this product you will find the pattern:
Plait Cloche, one size- adult

Who is this for?
This pattern is ideal for you if you’re a beginner knitter, who is looking to learn increasing and decreasing skills independently to create the classic beret shape.
The pattern is also part of the Crafty Cables course. So if you’d rather learn with step-by-step video lessons, check out the details here.
Why do you need it?
Adding shaping to your cabling skills is a perfect next step for beginner knitters.
If you’re an experienced knitter this is a great pattern to inspire a little creativity- use different textured yarns such as single or multi-ply- choose to knit in a subtle colour changing yarn for a different affect and add a pom-pom. Everyone’s cloche can look totally unique. (or if you feel like an easy knit, curl up with Gilmore Girls on Netflix!)

This pattern is for beginner knitters. Secret knitting jargon is included, but only when absolutely necessary!
And full, written, abbreviation support is given with the pattern.
